Job Summary of Culinary Shift Supervisor:
The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the quality and safety of the food being prepared at Chipotle. This includes tasks such as grilling meats, cooking vegetables, procuring food supplies, training future leaders, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. Your role is crucial in promoting teamwork and maintaining high standards for food preparation and customer service.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Culinary Shift Supervisor:
- Maintain the quality of food by cooking and prepping meals to order, observing kitchen protocols.
- Keep tabs on food waste levels and inventory quantities, resolving any problems related to food quality promptly.
- Enhance team cohesion between the back-of-house Crew and front-of-house Crew members.
- Help cultivate crew members' skills and qualities essential for kitchen leadership roles.
- Maintain strong communication links with both Crew members and clients to uphold exceptional customer service and streamline operational processes.
- Keep the kitchen space clean and free from contamination.
- Oversee the maintenance of kitchen devices to ensure they are in good condition and quickly fixed if any problems arise.
- Prioritize safety compliance to create a safe environment and reduce the likelihood of accidents.
- Fulfill obligations by accurately filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and adhering to Inventory Rotation requirements, following the FIFO method.
Qualifications and Experience of Culinary Shift Supervisor:
- Demonstrating expertise in understanding and articulating Chipotle's Food With Integrity philosophy.
- Fluency in the primary languages of the working environment.
- Attainment of a high school diploma or a similar certification is essential.
- Previous exposure to restaurant settings is preferred.
