This role is accountable for ensuring that the food prepared at Chipotle meets stringent quality and safety standards. Tasks include cooking meats, sautéing vegetables, ordering ingredients, training upcoming leaders, and enforcing cleanliness in the kitchen. Your role is pivotal in fostering teamwork and upholding top standards for food preparation and customer service.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Restaurant Kitchen Leader:
- Ensure consistent food quality by cooking and preparing dishes to order, always following kitchen procedures.
- Manage the monitoring of food wastage and inventory levels, addressing any issues with food quality as necessary.
- Cultivate a supportive team environment between the staff responsible for operations and customer service.
- Guide crew members in their evolution into future leaders within the kitchen.
- Achieve optimal customer service and operational efficiency through effective communication with Crew members and patrons.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area.
- Inspect kitchen machinery to ensure proper maintenance and swift repair of any malfunctioning equipment.
- It is vital to follow all safety regulations to ensure the prevention of injuries and accidents.
- Comply with guidelines by properly completing Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and implementing Inventory Rotation through the use of FIFO principles.
Qualifications and Experience of Restaurant Kitchen Leader:
- Ability to grasp and convey Chipotle's principles regarding Food With Integrity.
- Proficient in the main language(s) spoken at the job location.
- The minimum educational standard involves a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Those with prior restaurant experience will be given priority.
